In the midst of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Professor Eli McCarthy, PhD and Coordinator of the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative (CNI) Education Committee, sheds light on the importance of nonviolent action and a Just Peace Framework.

In his article, Professor Eli McCarthy emphasises the role of Catholic institutions and communities. In his words: “At Catholic institutions today, we are invited to stand with the Pope against war. We can begin by educating students and our communities about what it means for them to be part of just peace. We can also advocate for the (…) government to focus on diplomatic negotiations and support and scale up the peacebuilding and nonviolent resistance in Ukraine and Russia.”
